Greenfield Village

I hadn’t been to Greenfield Village in probably twenty years, so when I had the change to go with a few friends on a photowalk there this weekend, it seemed like a good excuse to go back.

What I didn’t realize is just how much there is to photograph.

Within a few hours I found myself bouncing between street photography, historical reenactments, sports, architecture, and candid moments. One minute you’re watching people make pottery, the next you’re trying to anticipate a baseball play or catch a quiet interaction between visitors.

Most locations tend to push you toward a particular style of photography. Greenfield Village is different. It’s a place where a little bit of everything exists side by side, which makes it easy to wander and see where the camera takes you.
