Greenfield Village – Historic Baseball

I’m not much of a baseball fan.

Modern baseball has never really grabbed me. But historic baseball? That’s a different story.

The same photowalk I attended at Greenfield Village this weekend happened to coincide with the opening day of their historic baseball season. Players in period uniforms, old rules, old equipment, and a game played at a pace that feels completely disconnected from modern professional sports.

As a photographer, it was hard not to appreciate. No giant scoreboards. No sponsorships plastered over everything. Just players, spectators, and a game being played much the same way it would have been more than a century ago.
