The theme last week at Copperflair was Anything Goes!—and it turns out, that was the perfect name for it. Our fantastic model Toni brought more than a few very unique looks for us to shoot!
I was actually feeling pretty low-energy during this one—work’s been rough lately, and that definitely impacted my shooting. I’m a very introverted person, and when I’m burned out, it shows. I felt like I was giving off a bit of a lackluster vibe, but luckily Toni had more than enough style and energy for the both of us.
I honestly can’t decide which look I liked more—the Marie Antoinette setup (because I absolutely love anything cosplay) or the 80’s-style leather punk rock outfit. For that one, I went for an MTV-inspired vibe—pushing vibrancy and saturation, adding some colored lens flare, and sprinkling in a bit of grain.
In keeping with my goal of identifying areas to improve (because hey—I’m trying to learn here, and I want to encourage anyone reading this tiny speck of a blog on the infinite vastness that is the internet to do the same), this week’s takeaway is that I need to focus more on cropping in-camera. I’d been doing well with that lately, but for whatever reason (personally I blame my own low energy vibes), I ended up shooting too far back from the model this time, which meant a lot more cropping during editing.
Hope you enjoy the images!
