Well my Flickr account got deleted either today or last night without notice. Not sure what happened. So I sent a note to their help desk, but the auto reply said it will take about a week to respond.

This is annoying. First I got shadowbanned on Instagram and now Flickr deleted my account without notice. But I think there is a lesson here. Don’t rely on social media to broadcast your photography. It can be a good supplement (and, sadly, I think it’s probably a necessary evil these days) to help draw people to your main site. But keep your main site under your control, cause as I’ve seen twice now social media sites can ban you and delete you without notice.

So I did start posting on Bluesky and I rebooted my instagram (for now). Really hoping that the folks at Bluesky launch a competitor to instagram cause that site is pretty much dead for photography…

I also signed up for a portrait and lighting workshop tomorrow so look for a post on that in the next day or two!!!
