Julia: Science & Steampunk

You don’t see a lot of dance where I usually shoot. Not for lack of interest, it just doesn’t come up often.

Cosplay, on the other hand, does.

This set landed somewhere in between. Steampunk details, a bit of science fiction, and movement pulled straight from ballet. Not an obvious combination, but it worked.

The pacing was different. Dance forces you to pay attention in a different way—timing matters, small shifts matter. Add in the structure of the costumes and it becomes a balance between precision and restriction.

Made for a solid shoot. Different from what I usually do, but worth stepping into.
